Cancellation Policy + Terms & Conditions


Thank you for booking your holiday with us. Please take a couple of minutes to read through our cancellation policy and terms and conditions as they do contain important information that forms part of the contract between you and The Black Mountain Company.

Paying for your holiday

Full payment is required to secure your booking. Please ensure that you have sufficient holiday insurance to cover you in the unlikely event that you need to cancel.  

If you wish to cancel your booking you can do so in writing within 14 days from date of booking and receive a full refund (unless you are booking less than 12 weeks prior to arrival). If we do not hear from you within this period you are deemed to have accepted our terms and conditions. You may cancel your holiday with TBMC at any time; however the following fee structure will apply:

Shepherd Hut Rental

The rent of each shepherd hut includes the following, in addition to the facilities listed in the welcome pack:

  • Rental of shepherd hut, pitch, deck and furnishings, parking, use of and access to designated areas of farm grounds, use of water, VAT where applicable.

It is the policy of TBMC that children and/or pets are not to be left unattended in the shepherd hut at any time.

 

The Loft Rental

The rent of the Loft accommodation includes the following, in addition to the facilities listed in the welcome pack:

  • Rental of accommodation and furnishings, parking, use of water and electric.

It is the policy of TBMC that children are not to be left unattended in accommodation at any time.

 

Pets

Well behaved pets are allowed subject to prior confirmation and approval.  Please add on the relevant dog surcharge at the time of booking. Please also note that as the pet’s owner you are responsible for controlling your pet and clearing up after them- dogs play where children play, so please clean up after they foul and use the bins provided. If pets become a nuisance to other users and the situation cannot be resolved we reserve the right to request that the pet be removed from site.

We regret that pets are not allowed at the Loft.

 

Checking in

Check in is between 4pm and 7pm, if you would like to arrive before 4pm or after 7pm please call in advance to arrange and we will do our best to accommodate you.  

Please allow time on check in for a brief instruction on safety including use of the wood burning stove. Operating / lit wood burning stoves are not to be left unattended at any time.

 

Checking out

Check out is at 11am. Please leave your accommodation in a presentable manner and settle any outstanding balances before you leave.

 

Campfires

Fires should be kept small and manageable and can only be lit in designated areas. The wood store is seasoned wood and for use with the log burners only, please collect fallen wood from the fields for campfires.

 

Consideration for other guests

In order to make everyone’s stay enjoyable, all guests are requested to be considerate of others and respect your fellow guests’ privacy. After 10.00pm we request that all guests keep noise and light pollution to a minimum in accommodation areas.

Inappropriate or anti-social behaviour may lead to removal from the site without a refund of the rental sum or any part of it.

No smoking is permitted inside the shepherd huts or Loft accommodation.

Communal areas to be kept clean and tidy.
